SOME PIPES SYSTEM OFFSHORE

SOME PIPES SYSTEM OFFSHORE

SOME PIPES SYSTEM OFFSHORE

- Piping systems on the rig can be divided into two main groups: Hydrocarbon processes and Utility.

1. Hydrocarbon Process System

Gas / oil process: This is the main piping systems, splitting water, air .. or any dirt that obstructs the transport out of the hydrocarbon.
- Example:
PG systems (Process Gas Hydrocarbon), PL (Liquid Hydrocarbon Process)
  •  Fuel Gas: Supplying gas to run the generator.
- Example:
GF System (Fuel Gas)
  •  Power Gas: Supplying gas to control Valves.
- Example:
GI system (Instrument Gas)
  • Vent System:  HP (high pressure) and LP (low pressre)
  • HP Vent system: Use low pressure in the pressure vessel in the event of an emergency shutdown (emergency shutdown - ESD) or reduced pressure by PSV (pressure safty valve). The system will clean gas emissions and communal into the atmosphere at a safe location.
  •  Low vent pressure: Similar to HP vent system but do not work with low pressure.
- Example:
VA System (Atmospheric vent)
  •  Flare System:Similar to Vent  System but Gas will be burnt off at the end Flare Boom. Flare system installed at platforms other Gas oil requiring disposal when relatively large and can not be discharged directly into the atmosphere.
- Example:

  • VH system (High Pressure vent), VOL (Low Pressure vent)
  • Corrosion inhibitor: To protect carbon tubes, often used mixed with methanol or Monoethylene Cronox 638S Glycol MEG (20/80%). Is pumped into the well, or subsea pipeline.
  •  Hydrate inhibitor: Use Methanol; Monoethylene Glycol MEG; triethylene glycol TEG

2. Utility System

  •  Fire system: prevention system and firefighting.
- Example:
  • WF System (Fire Water)
  •  Seawater service: Supplying for cleaning (washing floors, toilets ...)
- Example : System
  •  Portable water: Supplying clean water (from the ship offers, or separation from seawater).
- Example:
WE System (Fresh Water)
Compressed air: Supplying from the air cylinder (working pressure of 7 bar), divided into 2 categories
  • Instrument air: Supplying air dry, clean the equipment controller. Supply air before the equipment is going through drying equipment to dry, then passes through an filter.
- Example: AI System (Instrument air)
Utility air: Supply of gas for various purposes such as motor starters
diesel, pressurized bottle water distribution, gas supply for hand tools (hand
tools), pumps and other equipment can carry more.
- Example: AU System (Utility)
Diesel Fuel: Supplying Diesel for the crane (Crane), lifeboat, backup generators or emergency. Diesel is powered from the boat and is contained in the tank (the pad gantry crane or feet).
- Example: DF system (diesel fuel)
HELIFUEL: Supplying fuel for aircraft.
- Example: HF System (Heli fuel)
Drain (exhaust system): Exhaust unused water into the sea.
  1.  Open drain: Non-hazardous: Exhaust water containing at most toxic substances (water wash the floor in a safe area, rainwater ...) into the sewage tank located under the sea (open drain overboat caisson).
  2. Open drain: Hazardous: Leading water discharged from an unsafe area.
  3. Closed drain: Exhaust water separation in the technology  process.
  4. Example: System DC (Closed drain), DO (Open drain)
  5.  Sewage system: Grey water and Black water.
    - Example: WW system (Sewage)
